Our guidelines regarding the Coronavirus

In response to the growing concern over the coronavirus we are administering the following guidelines to effectively sanitize our facilities for health, safety, and the comfort of our customers:

  • After each escape experience, our workers will disinfect the escape rooms frequently touched props and surfaces, door handles, waiver tablets, and other frequently used items.

We ask our employees to frequently wash their hands, not to come to work if they are sick, and if they do cough or sneeze, to cover them.  We have instructed our employees on sanitation and health procedures and have provided cleaning and disinfecting products.

Do you have gift cards available for purchase online?

Yes, we do!  You can see what they look like and make a purchase here.  “Generic” gift cards are good at any location any room, and the “specific” gift cards are for a specific location and escape room, but really could be used for another escape room or location.  Call us for details, questions or if you would prefer to purchase over the phone.

After purchase, you will receive an emailed link.  Follow that link to design the gift card (with some holiday images as well as images from our escape rooms).  Download the gift card.  From there, print out or email to the recipient.  The recipient will then have a full year to utilize the gift card.

What is the cost per person?

The ticket price per person is $29 before tax to go in to any one of our escape rooms.  We have seasonal escape rooms, like Saving Christmas, that are $22 per person.

We are located434 Market St, Chattanooga, TN, 37402. We are on the second floor, above Taziki’s Mediterranean Café.  The stairs to the second floor are on the left side of the building.

Parking is available in many nearby lots and also on the street.  The lot across Market street and another across 5th street to the south are the closest.  You can park on Cherry Street and come down either 4th or 5th to Market.  There is free street parking after 6pm every day and on Sundays.  See the map above for parking options.

Public Transportation: Both the Northbound and Southbound Electric Shuttle commute along Broad St making several stops. The nearest shuttle stop is at Jack’s Alley, just a block from Time to Escape. Simply walk from the shuttle stop, on one end of Jack’s Alley, to the other end and you will find Time to Escape located across the street!

What if I want to do second a escape room in the same day? Is there a discount?

Second escape room in the same day is only $18 per person plus tax!  No rescheduling is allowed for the second escape experience, however.

Also, if you want to come back, but do not know when you would do so, after your escape experience onsite, you can purchase a $24 gift card, good for any escape room, any location anytime in the next year.

What restaurant options are there in the area?

As we are in downtown, near the aquarium, there are many local walkable restaurant options.  We have a list of some of them on our team building page here.


What are your hours of operation?
  • Sunday-Thursday: 12pm to 10pm
  • Friday: 12pm to 11:30pm
  • Saturday: 11am to 11:30pm

Our Event Coordinator is on staff at 10 am M-F, and is available to take your calls at that time on those days.

We also open at custom dates and times for scheduled Team Building and private events.

Are there any age restrictions?

We have no age restrictions – our rooms are accessible for all audiences, but we do have some rules:

A parent or guardian will also need to sign an onsite electronic waiver for anyone under 18.  

Additionally, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Children aged 13-15 may play without an adult in the room, but an adult must remain in the neighborhood with a cell number on file with us so that in the event adult supervision is required an adult is nearby.

For family groups with young children (7 and under) we recommend booking the room just for your group. This is to ensure the best experience for everyone. Please call us to discuss your specific circumstance, or select “private event” at the booking screen to purchase a private escape room experience.

We do not charge for participants 4 years old or under.

Do I need to book an appointment to play?

We highly recommend making a reservation before you come. This way, your tickets are secured for the room and time you choose. Walk-ins are welcome, but are subject to availability.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept most types of credit and debit card. You can book online for a room and time of your choice, or you can call us to book over the phone. We do accept checks for prepayment of team building or other special events.  We do not accept cash except for purchase of our beverages on site.

How many people can be in the rooms at one time?

The our player maximum is 10 for Sabotage: Chattanooga 1944 and Locker Room Lockdown: Mascot Rescue rooms and player maximum for Secret Agent room is 8 participants. We have no minimum – we’ve had groups of just one go through our rooms. If you’d like to book for a higher number of players, please call us at (423) 414-2527.

Is it possible to play with just my group?

To book a private experience, you will need to reserve all available slots for your selected time block in the room of your choice. You can do this online by selecting “Private Event: book entire escape room”, or by calling us at (423) 414-2527.

If you do not book a private experience, it is possible other people who are not part of your group could join your experience.  This can be a good thing – especially if you have a very small group.

What is your change and cancellation policy? Do you give refunds?

We do not allow cancellations, however, you can reschedule your reservation at any time up to four hours before your reserved time slot. You may change the time and date of your booking by following the link provided in your confirmation email, or by giving us a call.

We do not provide refunds for missed bookings. However, if you arrive too late or are unable to make your reservation, you may choose to “Stand By” for a later booking that same day. If an escape room is about to begin, and slots are available for you and your party, you can join that escape room. You may remain on “Stand By” until the end of the same day as your original booking.

What time should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your start time. This leaves plenty of time to sign waivers, use the restroom, and be briefed by your Game Master about rules, game play, and the background story for the escape room.

What happens if I am running late?

We recommend arriving 15 minutes before your start time, but try to give us a call and update us on your ETA.  If you are more than 5 minutes late, the experience may start without you. We will usher you into the room, but you may not have the full 60 minutes of time remaining.

If you are 15 minutes late or less, you may join the escape room already in progress. However, if you are more than 15 minutes late, we cannot allow you to join. This would either give you too little time to complete the challenge, or interrupt others in the room who are already in progress.

We do not provide refunds for missed bookings. However, if you arrive too late or are unable to make your reservation, you may choose to “Stand By” for a later booking that same day. If an escape room is about to begin, and slots are available for you and your party, you can join that escape room. About Our Escape Rooms

What makes Time to Escape different? Why should I choose you?

First of all, our escape rooms are highly detailed, and very immersive.  You will feel like you’re in a different time and place.

Next, in select escape rooms we feature in-room actors.  No, they don’t play zombies.  The characters they play are complicated characters with a rich backstory.  We really feel that with our skilled actors, our escape rooms are an experience like nothing else.

In all of our locations, we have many restaurants in the area – perfect to combine our escape room experiences with food and beverages.

We have a full time event coordinator that has planned many events large and small.  Call us at (678) 705-4320 to start the planning process.

We have package and group options – including event and meeting space, team building facilitation, decoration packages and more!

All in-all – after being in operation since 2016, we feel like now we’re the best game in town.

What is an “Escape Room?”

An escape room is a live-action adventure game. Players are locked in a room, and challenged to use objects and elements of the space to solve a series of puzzles in order to escape within a set time limit. Cooperation is key!

At Time to Escape, you will be placed in a highly realistic, themed room, and will need to use your critical thinking and teamwork skills to solve the mystery inside, escape within one hour, and go down in history as a “winner” of the room!

How difficult is the escape room? Can all audiences enjoy this experience?

The difficulty varies, please look at the rooms pages for difficulty ratings as well as our all time best times on our leaderboards.

We do provide up to three clues in our normal game mode – a clue is when you get stuck on a challenge in the room and ask us for help.

All audiences can enjoy this experience – one way we’ve ensured that is to offer a “casual” game mode – in this mode, you will get the normal three clues, but essentially you can ask for as many as you’d like.  The downside is that you will not qualify for one of the best escape times and place on our leaderboards.

Are there cameras in the escape rooms?

Yes. We use cameras and microphones to monitor your live experience. This is how your Game Master will know how to guide you (if you need it!).

What happens if we don’t solve anything?

You will be in contact with your Game Master the entire time, and he or she will provide up to three clues, at your request. Our goal is to maximize the fun in our escape rooms.

All audiences can enjoy this experience – one way we’ve ensured that is to offer a “casual” game mode – in this mode, you will get the normal three clues, but essentially you can ask for as many as you’d like.  The downside is that you will not qualify for one of the best escape times and place on our leaderboards.

Will I be in danger at any point?Can I exit the room if needed? What happens if there is an emergency?

The rooms are designed with safety in mind, first and foremost. All escape rooms are closely monitored by our staff, and players can leave the rooms for any reason at any time.

How scary are the games? Are they family friendly?

The rooms are designed to entertain and challenge, rather than scare. There are no loud or sudden noises, nothing “jumps” out at you, and no upsetting themes or imagery are involved. Our rooms are family- and kid-friendly, although this does not mean they are easy for adult only groups – they can be a fun challenge for all audiences!

We have not had anyone leave the rooms in progress because they were too frightened or anxious about the experience.

For kids under 8 we recommend they are with a family group and we also request that the room is private for your group only.

Do I need to bring anything? How should I dress?

You do not need to bring anything with you. The experience isn’t physically taxing, but we do recommend wearing comfortable clothes.

Can I take pictures or videos in the rooms?

We do not allow photography or recording of audio or video in any of our rooms. We do, however, take photos at the end of the experience!  We also have some fun props and signs to make those photos even better.

Will I be able to use my cell phone?

We do not allow cell phone use inside the rooms. This includes flashlight use. We will provide a bin for players to set their phones in.  The bin will stay in the escape room with you.  If you need to make or take a call or text, please be courteous and step outside of the room to our common area. However, we encourage you to disconnect for the hour you’re with us, and become fully immersed in your adventure.

Do you have a mobile escape room experience that you can bring to my location?

The Golden Phoenix is our mobile escape room experience.  It features an in-room actor that plays a character that will guide the action along, and will enhance the entertainment.  Online bookings for this experience are not available,  please call us or submit an event request here to discuss bringing this experience to your location.  The high points of this experience are: 45 minutes in length, able to be brought to another location for events, it is a unique competitive experience terrific for team building, is best played with a minimum of 3 and up to 12 participants.
